This series includes silk screen prints, lithoprints and some ink jet prints, which I produced whilst doing an artist’s residency at the North West Film Archives. I produced a body of work inspired by a collection of rediscovered and restored amature super 8 and 16mm film footage.
The films were shot in 1930's in the North of England on a frozen lake. The footage was short, but captured adults and children, between the wars, enjoying a crisp winters day in the sunshine.
From this research, I made an artist, which was shown on the BBC big screen, Manchester, the Urban Centre in Liverpool, the FACT Arts Centre in Liverpool, the Orleans House Gallery in Richmond and the Urban Nomad Festival, Taiwan
Some of the prints in the series have been shown at the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition, the Royal Society of Art at the Mall Galleries, London, the Royal Scottish Academy of Art, Edinburgh, The Society of Women Artists at the Mall Gallery, London, and the the Royal Birmingham Society of Arts (RBSA)
